Please all visitors to this site what do you think about it? What are any improvements you would like to see? You may leave comments or suggestions below.

Good Morning Monteagle. It you have shopping or just need to leave the house I suggest you get it done this morning.  You can expect rain and yes I know its December but a thunder storm is possible today. Highs will be around 58.

12/21/11

The Monteagle area has received 4/10 of an inch of rain so far. We only got down to 55 last night so that was warm. The forecast has improved for Christmas Day by just a little bit. It looks like we probably will see the light flurries now, but still I expect no accumulation. Our problem is the jet stream is coming out of Canada and dipping into the gulf and bringing warm moisture and rain up, unlike last year when we had moisture coming from up north. So until this pattern changes we aren't going to have those heavy snows like last year. Don't lose all hope just yet we might just get that pattern change going into January. Stay tuned to this website for the latest.

Latest forecast

Still working on how my own forecast window will look. Until then get the latest forecast here http://forecast.weather.gov/MapClick.php?CityName=Tracy+City&state=TN&site=OHX&lat=35.259&lon=-85.7519

Update On The Rain

It looks like the heaviest rain is going to hold off all together until later tonight. The rain should begin to taper off some what after 2 P.M. tomorrow, with more rain coming in on Thursday.

Rain Is On The Way

This Morning started out at 48°F so that was nice if you had to get out and go somewhere. Rain will be arriving at around 4 P.M. with the heaviest not arriving until 10 P.M.  tonight. For anyone wanting to know the chances of a white Christmas here in the Monteagle area, I am forecasting 5%. If the 5% was to happen it would only be the cold temperatures squeezing out every last bit of moisture which would result in light flurries. As for you snow lovers I am tracking a chance for the white stuff next week so stay tuned for that.

Rainfall Totals For The Next 5 Days

The models are are showing around 2 inches of rain through the next 5 days, but I think it will be around 2.5 inches. Tomorrow brings a slight chance of severe weather for northern Mississippi and that system might give us a rumble of thunder going into Tuesday night and Wednesday. But I do not expect anything severe at all. Stay tune this blog for the very latest.
